Scope and Content Limekilns, Ballencrieff, Bathgate, West Lothian This bank of kilns was unusual, in that it had two draw arches, but three shafts, the central shaft having two drawholes, one in each draw arch, and each side shaft having a single drawhole in its own draw arch. This view shows the left-hand draw arch, with one of the drawholes for the central shaft tucked into the right-hand corner of the inner arch. This kiln is now in the garden of a private house.
