Scope and Content Sawmill, Glamis village, Angus This is an interesting example of a village/estate sawmill, adapted throughout its life, and still in use in 1974. This view shows the oldest part of the group, a rubble building with a corrugated asbestos roof. To the right is a timber clad, corrugated-iron-roofed addition. The wooden launder or open channel and sluice appear to have supplied water to a turbine. This little sawmill served the Glamis estate as well as other local needs.
