Scope and Content Gravestone commemorating Peter Steven and Isobel Maltman, Bo'ness churchyard, Falkirk This headstone commemorates Peter Steven, who died in 1747, and his wife Isobel Maltman. The robed angels and crown of righteousness signify a hope of salvation and everlasting life. The Latin inscription beneath is faint and worn away in places. The graveyards of Scotland are an important part of the cultural heritage of the country and can provide fascinating information for people interested in family or local history, as well as vernacular art.
