Scope and Content Southbound platform building, Longniddry Station, East Lothian This station was built by the North British Railway on its line from Edinburgh to Berwick. This view shows the entrance to the station from the forecourt. The low-pitched roofs and prominent eaves are characteristic of the Italianate style adopted by the North British Railway for its first stations. This station survived in use because it serves a village which has become an outer suburb of Edinburgh. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
