Scope and Content Cross-slab from Cullingsburgh, Bressay, Shetland This cross-slab was found near St Mary's church, Cullingsburgh, sometime before the mid 19th century. It was taken to Gardie House, and then onto Newcastle, where is was exhibited for twelve years. The stone is now in the Royal Museum of Scotland. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. At the top is an interlace-decorated cross. Below this are a pair of figures, a horseman and what may be a lion and a boar. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
