Scope and Content Cross-slab from Woodrae, Angus This stone was originally found built into the floor of the kitchen at Woodray Castle. The castle has now been demolished and the stone is in the collections of the Royal Museum of Scotland in Edinburgh. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. This face had several horsemen and some animals. Much of this side has been defaced, but a double-disc and a step can also be seen. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
