Scope and Content Cross-slab from Ulbster, Caithness, Highland This stone originally stood in the old burial-ground at Ulbster, the site of St Martin's Chapel. It is then recorded as lying over a grave at the same site. It is now in Thurso Heritage Museum. There are crosses and symbols on both sides. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The cross is incised, decorated with interlace and surrounded by eight symbols. These include a Pictish Beast and a crescent and V-rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
