Scope and Content Cross-slab at Elgin, Morayshire This stone now stands in the ruins of Elgin Cathedral. It was originally found in the High Street, near St Giles Church. It was moved to its present location in the 19th century. The stone is granite. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. The symbols are carved on the N face. They include a double-disc and Z-rod and crescent and V-rod. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
