Scope and Content Broch at Dun Troddan, Glenelg, Lochalsh, Highland Dun Troddan is built on a terrace on the side of a hill. It is one of the best preserved brochs with one third of the wall still standing to over 7 m high. This is a view of the remains of the broch. The structure's tapering shape in best seen from this side. It also shows the solid face which would have been presented to any attackers. The only entrance is on the S side. Excavations in 1920 revealed the location of the postholes for the wooden posts which would have supported internal structures. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
