Scope and Content Recumbent stone circle at Loanhead of Daviot, Aberdeenshire This recumbent stone circle at Loanhead of Daviot. It is a very well preserved example of this kind of monument. Before the central ring cairn was built there may have been a wooden structure within the circle. One of the stones is cup-marked. This is a view of the ring-cairn built inside the stone circle. It has a prominent kerb and contained a cremated human bone and pottery. There may have been a wooden mortuary house in the middle. Next to the stone circle is a cremation cemetery.
