Scope and Content Kintore Town-house, Aberdeenshire Kintore Town-house is said to have been begun in 1737 and completed ten years later. A north-west wing was added around 1800, perhaps by a local mason. The forestair probably replaced a less elaborate one. It obstructs a blocked doorway to the right of the entrance. A ground-floor vaulted cell had its own outside door. At some time the ground-floor was converted for commercial or domestic use. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
