Scope and Content Symbol stone known as the Picardy Stone at Myreton Farm, Insch, Aberdeenshire The Picardy Stone stands close to the road on what appears to be its original location. Basic excavation work carried out in 1856 showed that it had been erected on top of a small cairn 1.9 m diameter. A grave was found in front of the stone. The S face of the stone has three symbols carved on it. At the top is a double-disc and Z-rod. Both the discs are decorated with concentric circles and a dot. Below is a serpent and Z-rod and a mirror with two bosses and a double-twist handle. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
