Scope and Content Symbol stone at Bourtie Parish Church, Aberdeenshire This stone is built into the S wall of Bourtie Church. It has been placed on its side so that the original top is now to the right. This is the earliest recorded location of the stone. This is a drawing of the stone which appeared in John Stuart's 1856 publication 'The Sculptured Stones of Scotland'. At the top is a crescent and V-rod, and below it there is a double-disc and Z-rod. At the bottom is a mirror-and-comb. Source: RCAHMS contribution to SCRAN.
