Scope and Content This general view shows, in the upper part of the photo, Raigmore Hospital, UHI campus at Beechwood Farm and, just coming into view at top left, the Inverness Retail Park. The B9006, following the original line of the A9, runs from centre left to top right and below that are, from left to right, Culcabock village, the Culcabock estate, the Police HQ and the Inshes Retail Park. The notorious Inshes Roundabout is just above centre. The A9 loops from top left to top right. There are prehistoric remains in parts of this area as well as evidence of local estates - Raigmore, Drakies and Inshes. The hospital was opened in the grounds of the Raigmore Estate in 1941, the Culcabock housing scheme was built in the 1970s, the present Police HQ was built in the early C21 and the Inshes Retail Park was developed in the 1990s. The UHI campus building at Beechwood Farm was opened in 2015. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
