Scope and Content A general view of the N of the town of Beauly which was the nucleus of the medieval borough, developed to the west and south of the priory. The priory church ruins within its burial ground are just left of centre and directly below it the former school, now museum. These structures and The Square with many fine, mainly 18th and 19th century buildings are just below centre right and form the core of the town's conservation area. To the right of The Square on the far side of the main road running left to right a 19th century shop frontage of three large windows and further right again on this side of the road the impressive Lovat Arms and the Library and Village Hall. On the left hand edge of the town on the far side of the road are the Roman Catholic Church, Presbytery and cemetery.
