Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Scope and Content In this view the A9 runs up the left side of the photo. The B9006, which takes the line of the old A9, crosses the A9 at the bridge, built c. 1982 to avoid a dangerous staggered crossing. Inshes Retail Park and the Dell of Inshes housing development is to the right of the A9 and to the right of the Retail Park is the Police HQ. Part of Raigmore Hospital is at bottom right. Simpson's Garden Centre is just above centre left. There are sites of archaeological interest at Beechwood and an archaeological investigation at Dell of Inshes in 2003 ahead of development identified a number of items of interest. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
