Oblique aerial view of the northern end of Loch Ness, with Dores village, looking E.

DP 341422

Description Oblique aerial view of the northern end of Loch Ness, with Dores village, looking E.

Date 25/5/2008

Collection Papers of James Sloan Bone, landscape historian, Inverness, Highland, Scotland

Catalogue Number DP 341422

Category On-line Digital Images

Scope and Content The photo shows the NE corner of Loch Ness, with Dores village to the right. There are references in both Canmore and HES to the Strath Sgitheach but they are not in the photograph and surprisingly there is little data apart from post-med cottages, except Dores Church, which has a Mort House. The (unrecorded) site of the annual Rock Ness Festival is visible in the photograph in the field to the L of centre. Title and Scope & Content contributed by North of Scotland Archaeological Society (2021).
