Scope and Content First references to Skibo Castle were in 1211. Later it became a bishop's residence. None of the original castle now remains, being replaced with a new building in 1875. It was bought by Andrew Carngie in 1895. It is now owned by Peter de Savaray and runs as a corporate entertaining venue. It has formal gardens and glasshouses from 1900.
