Scope and Content Replica of Arthur's O'on at Penicuik House, Midlothian copied from original at Stenhouse The Roman temple known as Arthur's O'on stood in the grounds of Stenhouse. It survived until 1793, when it was demolished, despite being almost complete. Though not connected to a fort, the temple stood in sight of the Antonine Wall. This is a view of a replica of Arthur's O'on at Penicuik House, Midlothian. Only the top part of the structure is the O'on itself. It was basically a circular, stone building with a domed roof. The roof had a hole in it and there was one entrance. The building was almost certainly built by Roman legionaries. Early reports mention an altar inside, and a brass finger from a statue was found.
