Sample 205 Context 416 Layer of fragmented and complete shells (cockle) in a series of wind-blown sands butting Early Neolithic wall [405]. Sealed by sand [415], seals sand [418]. This context contained a cow tooth and a fragment of sheep skull and represents the final phase of human activity on the West Voe site. The sample is from a context that appears to represent a scatter of midden material that accumulated on a stable surface within the Early Neolithic dune system. It is likely that a relatively short period passed between death and it's incorporation into the context in which it was found.
