A charred hazel nut shell (Sample S.17A) from a deposit 017 sealed beneath an internal secondary stone wall 012 laid concentric to the main wall of the site 001. The context produced a yellow annular glass bead. and is likely to represent the carbonised remains of burning activity (hearth or similar) within the interior of Dun Glashan, incorporated into the deposit through human activity on the site. See also SUERC-5477 from the same context and with an identical age.
