C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - SUERC-313

A piece of alder charcoal (053) from a layer 003 of burnt soil and charcoal below a paved floor associated with house 1. Below the charcoal layer was natural gravel and the paving was immediately below the topsoil. The burning is associated with the earlier use of the site or preparation of the site before the construction of a timber roundhouse.
