C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - SUERC-10802

Sample CH06#47 Context 470 Fill layer 470 in forecourt of House 1370 (northern roundhouse). Deposit of red peat ash above fill layer 472, and covered by 2000. Layer 470 is OSL dated to 630-290 BC. Site Phase 12. The sheep tibia is likely to have been deposited into this layer as it formed. Very little time is likely to have elapsed between the death of the sheep and the incorporation of its unfused tibia into the archaeological context of the deposit.
