Sample CH06#42 Context 1203 Fill layer 1203 within House 1370 (within northern roundhouse). Deposit of yellow sand above floor layer 1709 and sealed by floor layer 1204. 1203 equates with layer 1610. Site Phase 11. The sheep humerus and articulating proximal epiphysis is most likely to have been deposited as the result of butchery refuse being combined with clean sand to form a fill layer, laid on top of one floor and before the second floor was laid above it. Very little time is likely to have elapsed between the sheep's death and the articulating epiphysis' incorporation into the archaeological context of the floor deposit.
