Sample TST03 21b Context 21 Silty clay and stone fill of isolated small pit F56, also containing several pottery sherds and flints. Over natural subsoil and beneath hillwash. One of two dates from this context for botanical reasons. Most probably derived from domestic waste (hearth debris?) cleared up and deposited in pit; sufficient burnt material to suggest that this may have been direct, therefore little time gap.
