C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - Q-1482

Basal peat from the same context in the north section of the ditch surrounding the chambered tomb 0.7 m above bedrock as SRR505 (4135 +/- 65BP). Two other basal peat dates are Q-1481 (3765+/- 70 BP) and SRR524 (3450+/-50 BP) from the same context as each other. The variations in date suggest they are only loosely related to (cessation of) human activity.
