Return to Index

Scottish Radiocarbon Database

GU-3036

Alder, heather, hazel, oak, willow and elm charcoal from a charcoal rich deposit (context 155 basal fill 153) at the base of a junction of ditches and a house-scoop wall; apparently conflicts with other dates (GU-3033, 1440+/-60 BP; GU-3034, 1420+/-50 BP) from roundwood structural features of the house; perhaps an earlier feature was cut by the first millennium AD house although the plant assemblage is of first millennium AD character. (NGR NO496235 of Driscoll 1997, 77 is an error).
