Mixed mammal, fish and shell from the infill (SH 77.82) of a drain belonging to the uppermost of the three superimposed Viking houses. Associated with the sample was an Anglo Saxon penny of Burgred of Mercia perforated below the head. PROBLEM: This date should be ignored since the degree to which parts of the sample incorporate the marine effect is impossible to establish.
