Alder charcoal with Grooved Ware from the base of the back-filling of post-hole A7 of the main timber circle. Probably provides a better estimate than oak- based dates GU-1163 (4315+/- 60 BP) and GU-1162 (4270+/- 60 BP); compare with alder-based date GU-1161 (4035+/- 50 BP) from post-hole A11.
