C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - AA-47748

Return to Index

Scottish Radiocarbon Database

AA-47748

A charred barley grain (Sample D1/58B) from a silty layer (Context D174) in a large rectilinear ditch feature. This layer was sealed by a large final fill with no evidence of post-depositional disturbance. The cache of charred grains relate to domestic waste thrown into the feature that was subsequently deliberately back-filled and represents a single episode of crop processing. See also AA-47747 (1100+/-50) from the same context.
