Following the launch of trove.scot in February 2025 we are now planning the retiral of some of our webservices. Canmore will be switched off on 24th June 2025. Information about the closure can be found on the HES website: Retiral of HES web services | Historic Environment Scotland
C14 Radiocarbon Dating - Sample - AA-45626
AA-45626
Right humerus plus right femur (Sample SK7) of an extended, partially articulated, supine burial of an immature individual aligned North-west to South-east (head in NW). The grave (342) was cut into a sandy midden 309/311 which was then rapidly redeposited as a virtually indistinguishable fill (f341). The burial was then sealed by 318/325, a sandy shell midden layer. Unlike SK5 and SK6 a small stone upright has been placed either side of the head. This burial was articulated so presumably little time elapsed between death and burial.
