Return to Index

Scottish Radiocarbon Database

AA-29767

A ploughshare from a stained sand deposit lying within the blocked entrance passage of an apparently unfinished wheelhouse. The deposit probably accumulated in the passage during use of the site. It was sealed by an ash dump. While it is possible that these deposits formed after the site's main use, it would be difficult then to explain how the passage did 4009t fill with sand.
