The higher ground that falls steeply to the shore at Torness point has been cut back by a considerable quarry, and the area between it and the littoral rocks is covered with the usual piles of debris and hollows, now all grassed over. Traces of similar work on a smaller scale extend for some distance westwards along the margin of the rocks.
