A sandstone ball with projecting knobs from the Hill of Barra was amongst several artifacts exhibited to the fellows of the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland in 1890 by John Rae of Aberdeen.

Proc Soc Antiq Scot 1890.

A carved stone ball with six not very prominent knobs, from Hill of Barra, is in the British Museum (1906.4.12.2).
