Two large aircraft sheds are situated about 100m SW of the end of a concrete slipway within the Hatston Industrial Estate. The sheds have been altered from their orginal form, one with a new roof and the addition of a lean-to to the rear, the other has had new access doors cut into the side elevations. The slipway is now used by yachts and dinghies.

The aircraft sheds and the slipway are visible on WW II RAF vertical air photographs (NLA 16, 615-616, flown 22 June 1941) and were used by flying boats, mainly of the 'Supermarine Walrus' type.

Visited by RCAHMS (DE, GS), August 1999
