Archaeology Notes

NJ96SW 30.14 centred 94252 61767

A group of at least twelve buildings situated to the N of the main access track into the Radar Station. All would appear to built of brick and concrete with steel roof trusses and small butresses. Most are single storey huts, some unroofed, some of which have short towers for water tanks. None of the huts were entered on the date of visit due to their advanced state of dereliction, . All would appear to have or had asbestos roofs.

One air raid shelter of the Stanton type was noted.

The buildings are almost certainly connected with the domestic site activity for personnel at the radar station.
