Wolf Stone: '...Situated immediately in front of Glendearg and marks the spot where a wolf was killed in some former age.' (This stone is published at NT 2372 0528 on both OS 6-inch map, Dumfriesshire, 1st ed. (1863), sheet xviii, and the edition published in 1965.)

Wolf Stone, Glendearg NT 237 052 NT20NW

What may be a prehistoric standing stone is situated 40m SW of Glendearg farmhouse. It measures 0.65m in breadth, 0.23m in thickness and leans towards the SE so that the top stands only 1.07m above ground-level.

NT 2372 0528 NT20NW 1

This alleged standing stone has recently been moved to a new location (at NT 2375 0527, from NT 2370 0529) after it had fallen during agricultural operations. It measures 0.65m in width from E to W by 0.12m in thickness and 1m high, and it now stands about 60m ESE of the position indicated on the 1989 edition of the OS 1:10,000 map.
