Archaeology Notes

NN44SE 13 483 416.

Near Cashlie (NN 489 418) and some 70 yds from Caisteal Coin nam Bhacain (Caisteal Cona Bhacain: NN44SE 8) is the Bhacain or Dog Stake. This stone, on a mound near the road, is about 2ft high; whether it is man-made or otherwise is unknown. It is associated with Fingalian legends (Cona' Bhacain - name: NN 483 416).
