Scope and Content This is a general view of a multiperiod landscape. Among the 19th century, and more recent houses and fields, are numerous prehistoric remains. Two large cairns, at least one of which is chambered, lie in the lower right, one in the grassy area and another on the top of the hill to the left above. Spread across the field with the cairns, and also in the rough ground higher up are bronze or iron age roundhouses and other signs of contemporary settlement. Another roundhouse areas lies above and left of centre and a possible souterrain was also reported there but has not been found recently.
