(Location cited as NY 410 772). Miners' Rows, Rowanburn. Late 19th century. A group of three ranges of single-storey cottages with associated coal stores and wash-houses. The colliery here closed in 1922.

Much of the village still stands with some of the original miners' rows extant. Main street is now on E side.

The 1st Edition of the OS 6-inch map (Dumfriesshire 1862, sheet liv), annotates the village as 'Rowanburn Cottages'. The current OS digital maps annotate the village as 'Rowanburn'.
