Archaeology Notes

NX96NE 9.03 965 664

NX 965 664. A small, bun-shaped iron bloom, approximately 3 ins in diameter, was recovered when grave-digging in December 1966. This is probably of Dark Age date and related to the two marvered glass beads found in the 19th century.

J Williams 1967

Two glass beads, one south English of the 1st - 2nd century, and the other 6th - 7th century Irish, have been found previously.

J Williams 1967.
