Archaeology Notes

NX49SE 12 c. 486 940

Not to be confused with logboat discoveries in Loch Doon, for which see NX49SE 11.

In 1972 the following were found by divers 'off-shore of Castle Island': 'Thwart-board of boat: oak thole-pin: leather shoe-sole: green glaze strap-handle'.

A E Truckell and [M] Ansell 1972.
