Scheduled (with NX44NE 8036 and NX44SE 8023) as 'Garlieston, Mulberry harbour remains 2045m ENE of [NX44NE 8035], 1035m E of [NX44SE 8036] and 11860m S of [NX44SE 8023]... the surviving elements of a Mulberry harbour, a prototype floating artificial harbour, which underwent sea trials near Garlieston in 1943... The remains comprise six floating pontoons and a stone and concrete plinth. All six pontoons lie beached on rocks in Garlieston Bay, with four [NX44NE 8035] situated in a small cove known as Port Whapple... and two [NX44NE 8036] situated about 1035m east of Garlieston. The stone base [NX44NE 8037] is situated on the shore at Rigg Bay...'
