The technical site for Castle Kennedy Airfield is situated on the E side of a minor road leading to Clenery, NE from the A75 (T) road. The group of aircraft hangars, buildings and huts are at the NW corner of the airfield.

Within the group are several World War II structures including two of an original four Callender-Hamilton hangars, a fabric store (NX 11114 60003) and several rows of huts for stores etc.

The two surviving Callender-Hamilton aircraft hangars are is use for storage and are built of steel framing and corrugated iron sheeting. Sliding doors are still in place.

The concrete bases for many other huts are still visible in the area around the main buildings.

The technical site is visible on vertical air photogrpahs (106G/Scot/UK 41, 3312-3313, flown 4 May 1946), which show that there were in fact four aircraft hangars, all of the Callender-Hamilton type, at this date with the small watch office at c.NX 1133 6010.

A further nine blister hangars were located around the perimeter, of which six are visible on the 1946 air photographs.

The site is now being redeveloped as a small industrial estate and at present some of the original huts are in use for offices and storage.
