Archaeology Notes

NW96SE 23 9950 6323

At the date of visit traces of a rectilinear stone structure projecting from the WSW side of Bramble Island were visible beneath the surface of the water. The purpose of the structure is not known but it is possible that the island is a crannog.

RCAHMS 1985, visited (SH) September 1984

Listed as a crannog (site 55).

J Barber and A Crone 1993.
