Accessing Scotland's Past Project

This gate lodge was built in the mid-nineteenth century to serve Eccles House, which was replaced by a newer building in the late nineteenth century. The lodge is a single-storeyed structure built on simple, Classical lines.

Situated to the north-west of Eccles House, the entrance to the lodge faces south-west, overlooking the head of the driveway. A porch supported by paired columns surrounds the doorway and the glazing at the front of the lodge is the original leaded and plate glass.
