There are two standing stones in rough pasture 170 yds SSW of the summit of Moor Head, over 900ft OD. One, 4ft 9ins high, measures 3ft 9ins N-S at the base and tapers to a point; it averages 1ft 9ins in thickness and is packed with small stones at the base.
The second stone, 11ft S, measures 2ft 4ins in height, 1ft 10ins NW-SE and 1ft NE-SW. It is tilted towards the N.

The standing stones are at NT 7193 1143. The orientation of the stones is NNE-SSW and the smaller stone has an irregular top which has almost certainly been broken.

Field Visit (1 December 1999)
These two standing stones are now situated in a clearing within a conifer plantation. Trapezoidal in shape, with a pointed top, the larger stone (Kale99 465) measures a maximum of 0.97m from NE to SW by 0.5m transversely and 1.47m in height. The smaller stone (Kale99 466, NT 71930 11435) is situated to the S of the first and measures 0.35m by 0.48m at the base and 0.62m in height. The stone leans towards the larger stone and its top has probably broken off.
