A little to the south-east of Broxmouth House is the grave of Sir Wm Douglas who was slain at the battle of Dunbar AD 1650.

Name Book 1853

Sir William Douglas's Grave is rectangular in shape and consists of a wall of small flat horizontal stones about 0.2 metre high surmounted by a cover comprising flat square slabs of stone cemented together round a narrow central stone bearing the sole inscription 'Sir Wilm Douglas'. The stonework is in a very poor state of preservation.
