Watching Brief (3 March 2022)

NT 58951 32157 A watching brief was required as part of an extension for a sunroom to the bothy of Dryburgh Mains Farmhouse, on 3 March 2022.

The proposed construction area had been disturbed previously by the construction of a tiled patio subbase of c0.3m in depth, directly on top of a mid-reddish orange silty clay subsoil. Close to the base of the foundation strip at c0.6m this transitions to a more pinkish orange silty clay natural with distinct gravel inclusions. Archive: NRHE (intended)
