Archaeology Notes

NT47NW 46 401 758

Site recorded during a rapid coastal survey undertaken by GUARD of the S shore of the Firth of Forth from Dunbar to Stirling and along the N shore of the Forth to the Fife border. A gazetteer of all sites including listed buildings, designed landscapes, scheduled and unscheduled monuments was produced. GUARD 1996

Two concrete walls at right angles to each other on the rocky foreshore at Prestonpans. One wall leads from the promenade to the shore the other runs parallel to the shore and fills in the gaps between natural rocky outcrops. The rocks drop off sharply to the north of the wall.
